Birkin Bag Dupe — Dasein Walmart Bag for $41

Why the Dasein Bag Is a Great Birkin Bag Dupe

The Dasein Flap-Over Belt Shoulder Bag is a compelling affordable alternative for shoppers who love the structured, top-handle look associated with the Hermès Birkin. Its roomy satchel silhouette, rolled top handles, belted front detail, gold-tone hardware and flat-bottom construction create a similar classic handbag aesthetic without trying to be an exact copy. Available at Walmart for $41.39 when we checked, the Dasein is dramatically less expensive than the pre-owned Hermès Birkin 30 used in our comparison, which was listed at $17,999.99. The Dasein also adds practical everyday features including a top zipper, multiple interior pockets and a detachable adjustable shoulder strap.

What Looks Similar?

• Both feature a structured top-handle satchel silhouette
• Both use two rolled top handles for hand carrying
• Both feature prominent front hardware and belt-inspired detailing
• Both have a flat-bottom construction designed to hold the bag's shape
• Both offer a spacious everyday handbag silhouette
• The pink Dasein color creates a particularly strong visual pairing with the Rose Azalee Birkin used in our comparison
• Both deliver the polished, structured top-handle aesthetic shoppers often associate with Birkin-style bags

What's Different?

• The Dasein is made from vegan PU leather, while the pre-owned Hermès Birkin 30 in our comparison is made from Clemence leather.
• The Dasein measures approximately 14.5 × 10 × 5 inches, while the Hermès Birkin 30 listing measures approximately 11.5 × 8 × 6 inches.
• The Dasein is therefore larger in width and height and has different overall proportions from the Birkin 30.
• The Dasein includes a top zipper closure and a detachable adjustable shoulder strap, giving it features that differ from the traditional Birkin carrying experience.
• The hardware, handle construction, leather quality and craftsmanship are substantially different between the two bags.
• The $17,999.99 comparison price is for the specific pre-owned 2020 Hermès Birkin 30 Rose Azalee/Palladium listing, not the retail price of a new Birkin from Hermès.

Is the $41 Dasein Birkin Dupe Worth It?

For shoppers who want the structured top-handle aesthetic without spending thousands of dollars, the Dasein is a strong budget-friendly option. The belted front, rolled handles, hardware and structured satchel shape give it a recognizable Birkin-inspired feel, while the zipper closure, shoulder strap and multiple pockets make it practical for everyday use. It is not a replacement for the leather, craftsmanship or construction of an Hermès Birkin, and its dimensions are noticeably different. We would choose the Dasein for the overall look and value rather than as an exact reproduction of the original.
