Why SaveTheLook exists

Designer fashion has a math problem. A $3,400 Bottega tote isn't made of $3,400 worth of leather. A $890 Hermès sandal isn't held together by $890 worth of craftsmanship. The price is largely a tax on the logo — on the story, the heritage, the campaign.

We're not opposed to luxury. We're opposed to paying for things that aren't there.

SaveTheLook exists for a specific kind of shopper: someone who appreciates the silhouette, the craft, the visual language of high fashion — but who would rather spend $89 and keep the difference.

How we work

Every piece in our archive is hand-selected by our editorial team. We don't scrape Amazon. We don't auto-generate listings. We hunt — through emerging designers, contemporary brands, and lesser-known labels — for alternatives that capture exactly what makes the originals worth wanting.

Before a piece earns a spot in our archive, it must pass three tests:

• The Match. 89% or higher visual similarity to the original. We benchmark on silhouette, finish, structure, and material.
• The Math. A meaningful price difference — usually 85% or more off the original.
• The Quality. A piece worth owning, not just a cheap copy. We read reviews. We check materials. We pass on things that won't last.

Who we are

SaveTheLook is an independent editorial project, not a brand or a retailer. We earn through affiliate partnerships with the retailers we link to — meaning when you click and purchase, we may earn a small commission. This never affects what we feature or how we feature it.

We don't accept payment for placement. We don't take sponsorships. The only thing that gets a piece into our archive is the piece itself.
